What it costs not to answer

Every roofer is already paying for missed calls somehow. Here's what the usual options cost, and what they leave out.

    Voicemail

    $0 a month

Costs you the job. Most homeowners with storm damage call the next roofer instead of leaving a message.

    A part-time receptionist

    About $2,000 a month

25 hours a week at $18 to $22 an hour, before payroll taxes. Doesn't cover nights, weekends, or the week after a hail storm.

    A call center answering service

    Often $1+ per minute

Bills climb in storm season, and most take a message instead of booking the inspection.

    Revenue going to voicemail

    That's about 29x the $797 Answering plan.

The fine print, in plain words

    Terms

    30-day booking guarantee

If the receptionist doesn't book at least 5 inspections in your first 30 days, your second month is free.

    Winter rate on 12-month plans

Sign a 12-month agreement and pay a lower rate November through March, when calls slow down. Month-to-month plans pay the standard rate all year, with a 3-month minimum.

    Founding roofer offer

The first 3 roofing companies get setup waived in exchange for a short case study and permission to use call recordings in demos.

    Minutes and overages

Most months stay well inside the included minutes. Overages show up in storm weeks, and you see them on your monthly report before you're billed.
